Course Information
The TRAQ Renewal Course is a one-day refresher, with five hours of instruction, and three hours to take the exam. Current TRAQ holders can complete the course as early as three and one-half (3 1/2) years into their Qualification (18 months before your expiration date). If your Tree Risk Assessment Qualification expires between April 11, 2023 and October 11, 2024, you can register for this renewal. Once your current expiration date passes, you will need to retake the full course and assessment to be reinstated.
Once you have successfully passed the renewal requirements, you will be given 5 years from the date of your previous expiration allowing you to take full advantage of the 5 year period granted with the credential.

The process may take up to several months and may not allow enough time to attend this particular class.

ISA/ISAT member: $250.00 USD
Non-ISA/ISAT member: $350.00 USD
Member pricing is an exclusive benefit to ISA/ISAT members only. You must be a current ISA/ISAT member at the time of registration. All others will be charged non-member registration rates.
Retaking the Examination
There is a $150 USD fee per retake up to one year from the original date that you took the course. Applications for retake must be submitted prior to the registration deadline for the scheduled course where you will retake your exam. You must phone ISA to schedule a retake.
Cancellation Policy
A processing fee of $50 USD will be charged for all cancellations received on or before March 10, 2023. Cancellations after March 10, 2023, will be charged the full amount of the registration fee. Cancellation requests
Confirmation Packet:
You will receive a confirmation packet with a letter containing the date and time of the course and the name of the appropriate contact person. Confirmation packets are shipped three weeks prior to the date the course begins.
Confirmation packets will be shipped using UPS to the address provided on the personal information registration page. Please provide a physical shipping address (not PO Box).
Your Instructor: Skip Kincaid
Skip Kincaid is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist (MW-0155BM) with over 30 years of urban forestry, arboriculture, and forestry experience. He provides governments, businesses, utilities, attorneys, architects, and engineers with the performance of tree risk assessments; tree appraisals/forensics; storm damage assessment projects; tree preservation plans on construction sites; urban forestry master plans; ordinance writing; and expert witness testimony.
Skip currently holds positions as the Executive Director of the ISA Southern Chapter and the Director of Urban Forestry for Hansen’s Tree Service & Environmental Wood Resources in O’Fallon, Missouri and provides a wide range of consulting services.
Skip served for four years on the International Society of Arboriculture’s (ISA) panel of experts that developed the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) and has taught the 2½ day course over 60 times. His expertise is utilized by attorneys as an expert witness and he has testified at depositions and trials in many states.
