8:15 AM - 10:15 AM - Moving Rope Systems versus Stationary Rope Systems
This section provides training in the use of specialized equipment and techniques employed in both Moving Rope Systems (MRS) and Stationary Rope Systems (SRS). Learn the differences, gain an understanding of the advantages and limitations of MRS and SRS while maintaining and following safe work practices and legislation pertaining to fall protection. Participants will be educated in applicable forces on anchor points, redirects and tie off methods for tree climbing systems. This course meets the requirements of ANSI Z133, Z359, CSA Z259 and is in compliance with ANSI Z490 –Accepted Practices in Safety, Health and Environmental Training.

10:30 AM - 12:30 PM - Practical Aerial Rescue Approaches
Aerial rescue is more than lowering a 150-pound sand-filled dummy from a tree in a simulated injury. The climber performing the rescue must assess the situation and safely bring the injured climber to the ground without causing further injury or endangering themselves.

1:30 PM- 3:30 PM - The Science Behind Rigging Decisions
This section discusses the need for work planning, teamwork and communication between everyone on the site. The discussion will include site set-up, dynamic load vectors, angles of incidence, force, mass, and impact reactive forces encountered during a rigging operation.

Mark Chisholm is a third-generation, ISA-certified arborist with his family-owned Aspen Tree Expert Company. As a sought-after consultant and industry spokesperson for the world of arboriculture, he regularly conducts educational sessions. Chisholm has won the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) New Jersey Chapter Tree Climbing Championship 21 of the last 22 years and won the ISA International Tree Climbing Championship in 1997, 2001 and, again, in 2010. Chisholm currently holds the world record in the 50-foot secured footlock climbing event, with a time of 13.8 seconds.
