Do you know what constitutes the soil microbiome?
This workshop delves into the soil microbiome and how it can be a benefit or harm to trees. In recent years, there has been a growing appreciation for the role soil/rhizosphere/root-associated microbial communities play in tree health. When growing in soil with a conducive “microbiota”, trees are known to have greater fitness, development, and higher productivity than trees growing in deficient soils. Researchers are focusing on complex processes responsible for the growth-promoting properties of microbial communities in the soil and their interactions with trees. The workshop includes a panel of researchers, practitioners and arborists involved in the development and application of this knowledge.
