Lisa Sawyer has worked in the hospitality industry with a servant-oriented mindset for over thirty years. Her keen-insight allow her to service her clients' needs through innovative approaches to secure the right product for their need.

Being involved in the H-2A/H-2B temporary guest worker process since the year 2000 has allowed Mr. Hinojosa to experience and learn all the federal program facets. After traveling the country speaking at various events for state, national, and international associations, he continues to get the same question: “Why do you do what you do?” His short answer: “We get to help both workers and employers positively change their lives. Mr. Hinojosa feels that he has been blessed with the opportunity to continue to improve the programs by educating employers on staying compliant and continued advocacy in D.C. for further program advancements.

In her role with ISA, Luana is responsible for providing the direction and oversight of an internationally recognized, ANAB/ISO 17024 accredited ISA (www.isa-arbor.com) certification program and portfolio of professional credentials and programs. Luana leads a team of staff, volunteers, and service partners in order to translate industry and credential holder needs, and board-directed goals to create a global credentialing strategy and solutions focused on talent development and professional development opportunities for arborists worldwide and the advancement of ISA’s mission to promote the professional practice of arboriculture and foster a greater worldwide awareness of the benefits of trees.

Wei Zhang is the VP of Research and Development at Zynnovation LLC, aka TreeDiaper. He is also the Education Coordinator of The Institute of Soil Genomics for Healthy Community Forests. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Engineering from Virginia Tech. He has been doing research & development for the green industry for 15 years. His research areas include watering solutions for landscape plants, relationship of soil/water/air, plant protection against stresses like drought and road salt. His work also provides novel solutions to green stormwater infrastructures, for which plants are used for the treatment of pollutants in stormwater. He has more than 40+ peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, one monograph and 200+ conference presentations. He has been a frequent speaker on Arboriculture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Forestry, Stormwater Green Infrastructure, and related conferences and symposiums.

Gordon is the Arboriculture and Community Forestry Coordinator at the Institute of Soil Genomics for Healthy Community Forests. With 45+ years of tree care and sustainability expertise, Gordon co-owns CalTLC, owns Mann Made Resources, and co-founded TREES ROI and The Institute of Soil Genomics for Healthy Community Forestry. His passion lies in nurturing trees to grow to maturity where people live and educating everyone on proper tree care. His book The Trees Where People Live will be published this year to share how to sustainably grow trees where people live. Gordon's influence spans municipalities, non-profits, development, and private tree care, advocating for sustainable practices. As a Director on the California Urban Forests Council and a recent Trustee on the TREE Fund Board, he leads the charge in setting ambitious canopy goals for greener communities. His leadership in industry organizations is well-respected. He is a past director on the board of the Society of Municipal Arborists (SMA) and International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), a past president of the Western Chapter ISA, California Arborists Association, and the American Society of Consulting Arborists, and a past chair of the ISA International Tree Climbing Competition. He also serves on the ANSI A300 Committee.

Frank began his professional speaking career in 1990. Zig Ziglar is among the speakers that inspired him to pursue his passion. Thanks to natural ability and fine-tuning while working at Dale Carnegie, Frank has become an expert at dealing with people. His focus is on behavior change, whether on leadership, team- building, or culture shaping. Frank’s Driving Force in life is to help leaders overcome lack of clarity to engage synergistically and conquer new levels of success. Frank has mastered his craft of leadership development by facilitating more than 10,000 hours over 20 years and more than 300 companies. He utilizes humor, encouraging audiences to be focused but not to take themselves too seriously, enjoying life while challenging themselves. He leaves audiences energized and enlightened with the skills to produce positive effects in their personal and professional lives.

Karina joined the Texan by Nature team in 2022. As Marketing Director, she works to help realize the TxN vision for the future: for every business, every Texan to participate in conservation, and for Texas to be a model of collaborative conservation for the world. Using her background in Mass Communication, Karina combines her passion for nature, creativity, communication, design, and data analysis to help advance conservation.
